Hello my fellows in big banging madness!
I have had a thought. (It happens from time to time.) I don't know how many of you also participated in the great
wrisomifu (Write Something, You Miserable Fuck!) challenge this past November. For those unfamiliar with the challenge, all that was required of participants was ten minutes of writing per day. Each day, there'd be a daily check-in post where participants were encouraged to post word counts, and general kvetching, kvelling, descriptions of procrastinatory activities, lists of fattening foods consumed, etc.
Informal as they were, I found these check-ins very motivating. Just knowing that someone was going to ask me if I'd lived up to my daily goal, and that my answer would get a response gave me that little bit of an extra kick (read: guilt) that I needed.
So, if it's all right with the mods, and if there's interest, I am proposing a daily check-in post for the final 5 1/2 weeks until drafts are due.
The way I envision it is that seven members of the community can sign up for a day of the week on which she will post the check-in post. Then everyone can report their progress for the day (or not) as they wish. She would also be responsible for making sure each progress report comment to her post got an answer (although presumably the whole community would pitch in there).
ETA: Just to be clear, this would be a single post per day to which everyone would reply with comments tracking their progress. Not a bunch of individual daily progress report posts. Hence why we would need a volunteer for each day of the week.
What do y'all think?
