after the initial OMG THIS SUCKERY, the great thing about losing a draft that way is that you already know what you're writing AND you already know how to make it better :] i like to send myself updates to my gmail or post them in my livejournal so that i have 'backups' online too. i shall have a commisserating drink for your loss! and happy rediscovering/writing :]
