18,000!

And I am flipping the F* out!

I have got to make some major plot progress this weekend. Or else!  I now have total confidence that I'll get to 20,000, but there are so many things my characters have to actually do in order to make a coherent story. Also, my writing feels so utilitarian at this point, but I just don't have the time to make it great right now. *Sigh* Not that it will ever be great... because my story is dumb.

*My mom used to freak when we said 'fuck' so my sisters and I started saying 'F' instead. Now, ten or so years later, mom freaks out when we say 'F'  and has no reaction to 'Fuck'  :)

....I'm thinking I'm the one that wrote this post, since it's virtually identical to all my current woes. (Except for the part about swearing. My parents never had any qualms with us swearing, so to me "fuck" has the same force as "oh, no!" :))

Utilarian works! Easy to read! And can always be modified!

Oh, God! 20,000! And I still have five sections left to write! Aarrrrgggh!

I hear you on the utilitarian thing. I'm going to have to hand it in with some scenes that are almost pure blocking and have to try to improve them in March. And I still have to try to figure out if I'm going to find a way to fit in the whole flashback thread.
